Wing Inspection Covers on 41CC

Created March 16, 2007

Covers at the wingtips, for access to the brace ends, I believe.

Covers at the wing midspan, right where you'd expect them... at the aileron pulley, wing strut attach fittings, and braces.

The next few pictures show covers in the obvious spots but one may not be too obvious... Corky installed removable links in the aileron cables to allow the wings to be detached. One set of covers provides access to those removable links. The links are basically the same thing as motorcycle chain links, which have in fact been used for this purpose by some builders.

And here are the new tail numbers on the airplane. I had to remove the rudder horn to repair it, which required that I cut open the fabric and then repair and touch-up paint it. The original tail numbers had to come off. These new ones are vinyl, done by Dennis Demeter at AvGrafix... who does excellent graphics.
