Engine of NX41CC

Engine of NX41CC

Updated May 8, 2006

This was what the engine looked like after the nose-over. Damaged firewall, bent gascolator bracket, broken carburetor body, crumpled air box, bent and dented oil sump, bent exhaust stacks, lots of grass and dirt everywhere. Prop and engine mount were fine, as was the engine itself, but the accessories were a mess.

Here's how the airplane looked as of Saturday, May 6. The engine had just been successfully started and run for the first time in 18 months. I had the wiring done incorrectly and the right mag was grounded, but despite that it still started and ran and I was one happy TACO!

Head-on view. New air filter, carb heat box, heat hose, etc.

Old damaged heat box bracket alongside the new one I made myself.
