Wounded Piet

John Dilatush's Pietenpol, wounded, epilogue...

revised August 7, 2004

John experienced an engine-out, sudden and unexpected, on takeoff. Skilfully put her down in a field after trying to thread the needle through some trees and not quite making it. Ouch! But John walked away from it due to keeping ultra calm and just flying the plane, all the way to the ground.

At the time of this writing, the cause of the engine stoppage is unknown but is thought to be fuel related (clogged filter?). This Piet will live to fly another day, after getting a new wing and sorting out the fuel problem.

One more look at the wounded "Mountain Piet". Sad. For sale 'as is, where is'.
